1. How did you become a mortgage broker?  

After being in the insurance industry for many years I wanted a change and as my son is a mortgage broker, I became a broker to be able to support him and help our family business grow.

2. What do you like most about the industry?

I like being a part of a very important journey with our clients, it is very satisfying and rewarding to know that I am helping them with their property goals. I also love the flexibility it gives me with work and family balance.

3. Who is your favourite lender and why? 

I don’t have a favourite lender, every lender has their own unique credit footprint , this enables me with to shape a loan with a lender to suit the clients wants and needs.

4. What advice would you offer a new broker joining the industry?

Be prepared to learn continuously as there are constant changes in the industry. Stay focused on looking after your clients best interest and use the support provided by the BDM’s and your aggregator.

5. How and when did you join Vision?

I joined Vision from a recommendation in 2019. Helen made the onboarding process very easy and it has been the best collaboration for our business.

6. What was your experience with the Vision Mentoring Program?

The mentoring program was a clear and smooth process. David Lennox was very supportive and approachable. He made sure that I understood the lending process and what being a mortgage broker entailed.

7. What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, shopping  and spending time outdoors.

8. What challenges are you facing with the current climate? 

After interest rates being at an all time low for the last couple of years, it will now be  more challenging as interest rates keep rising.

9. If you won $10M tomorrow, what would you do?

I would retire for sure, share the money with my children, give some to charity, go on a very long holiday and keep investing in property.

10. Describe what you were like in high school in 3 words? 

Well that was a long time ago. I would say friendly, happy and loyal

11. What is your key for success?

Having clear goals and visions, being surrounded by motivated and passionate people. Also that it is imperative to look after our clients and make sure that they keep coming back and keep referring us more clients.

12. What makes you laugh?

My husband and 3 children always make me laugh.
