Sion Orritt – My Broker Finance

How did you get into the mortgage broking industry?

When I received a redundancy from my last PAYG role approx. 9 years ago I decided I wanted to run my own race instead of working for corporations; I saw mortgage broking as a way I could use my sales and marketing experience effectively without having any financial industry experience.

Macquarie…no question. Common sense assessment, quick turnaround and always decent rates.

What advice would you offer someone joining the industry?

Buy a waterfront home in Qld as they have the Covid s**t crushed!

Anyone with an irreverent view on life, I can’t take anything or anyone too seriously.
