Getting to know… Lydia Bawi Hrin

Vision Aggregation Broker Lydia Bawi Hrin

How did you become a mortgage broker?

I became a mortgage broker as my long term and short time goals are to help customers achieve their dream of buying property here in Australia. I especially enjoy helping newly arrived migrants from refugee backgrounds, who have limited English and knowledge. I have received a lot of support and help from Vision Aggregation in order for me to become a mortgage broker.

What made you transition from banking to broking?

I made the transition from banking to broking because I want to help my customers in offering a wider selection of products, being able to access a large variety of lenders, and enable me to search the market for the most appropriate products that specifically suits my customers’ requirements. It also gives me more flexibility in my working hours.

How easy was the transition you made?

I found the transition was very easy because I had more than 7 years’ experience in the banking industry. The broking role is similar to my past roles. I knew the banking policy, structure, compliance and the loan process.

What advice would you offer a banker wanting to become a broker?

I would advise and offer for any banker wanting to become a broker to come and join Vision Aggregation.

What challenges are you facing with the current climate?

As I am new to the broking industry, I am still learning the various new systems and new products, the differing policies from different lenders, and compliance.

If you won $10M tomorrow, what would you do?

If I won $10M tomorrow, I would support and help people who are homeless, and help them fight for their human rights and democracy.

What is your key for success?

My key for success is setting clear short-term and long-term goals that I can achieve, and building strong relationships with all people with honesty and integrity. I always keen to learn, I am a hard worker and never give up, even in difficult situations. I have can-do attitude.

What do you do in your spare time?

I listen to music and read books in my spare time. I also enjoy taking my kids to the park, and playing badminton with my family.

What makes you laugh?

When I see something funny, making a joke, and also tickling makes me laugh.
